Wells Fargo blocked from buying Wachovia

I wonder how long it'll take to work this mess out. I venture to guess that Citibank will win out. I'm hoping that I am wrong. Citibank will devour, digest and destroy Wachovia. Wells Fargo is far more conservative (and smart about banking) and would integrate. Wells Fargo is one of only a handful of banks that didn't dive head first into the mortgage debacle. If they don't wind up with Wachovia, they will pounce on National City in a couple of weeks when they are pushed to the verge of collapse.
